//The Heart Prep Stage//

[*written in the last few days of 2022*].

doubt, fear…

such obvious tactics of the enemy. overused & old schemes- yet, they can still seem to find their way often into the heart of this believer.

In my 15 years of walking with Jesus, I’ve found that often when God is up to something GOOD around the corner, the enemy is working tirelessly to try to thwart His plan & get me to doubt what I know God spoke in clarity.

when The Lord put His ‘yes’ on the World Race for me, I experienced the most affirmative confirmation & ‘peace that surpasses all understanding’ (Phil. 3:7) I ever have over a decision. the surety of this next step was overwhelmingly YES.

& the past few months of preparing for this big trip- the fundraising, the gear accumulation & packing, the soaking in last moments with family and sweet relationships, & the wrapping up of life in America and all my comforts here— it’s been so good, but I’ve also noticed that as I get closer to the Race, I’m experiencing some doubt & fear.

questions of ‘do I really want to leave my family for that long?’ ‘am I really ready for something like this?’ ‘what if…?’

and yet- there’s also been a steady undercurrent of p e a c e. assurance that this is right, & what I’m meant to do.

I leave in 20 days to join my team for a year of life-changing adventure & abandon for Christ.

& the looming thoughts and questions and worries only prove to me that God IS in this next chapter. that I am MEANT to join Him on this mission.

in fact, I’m even MORE excited about what is to come. because I’m sure that my God is up to something GOOD. as I am in this heart preparation stage, will you pray with me? pray that God would completely have my heart. pray that He would be preparing the hearts of me, my team, & the people we will be serving. the harvest is plentiful. I can’t wait to meet all the beautiful faces He wants to share His good news with.

there is a lot of unknown for me in 2023. but oh, the J O Y that awaits me.
