‘For such a time as this.’

There are days when I reflect on the true purpose of The Lord directing me to the World Race. Why this specific year, with these specific people, in these specific countries?

It’s easy to lose perspective sometimes. The Race is intensive & full of constant movement, change, adjustment, and new. I’m so thankful for it. All of it. I embrace spontaneity & love the pace of running hard after Kingdom, soaking in every possible minute & experience I can in these places.

But there are days where I take a step back, reflect, & start to feel the weight of all I’m witnessing. Spiritual battles, lost people, rejection of the Gospel, the reality that fruit in discipleship takes a long time (& I only get a matter of weeks in these places).

And I feel tired.

I miss home.

We just hit month 7 & ‘Racer fatigue’ is a real thing.

That’s the journey for every believer~ sanctification is a lifelong process. Messy, up & down, mountaintops & valleys. But the promise is that it will be complete someday (Phil 1:6). That’s what I’m clinging to.

The World Race is just a representation of what life with Him is. A picture of journey. Because we believers are truly sojourners on this earth, longing & waiting for our true Home (Hebrews 11).

This trip is a gift. It’s teaching me perseverance & endurance, to lock eyes with Jesus & seek what it means to genuinely abide in intimacy, dwelling solely with The Father.

On the days when I feel the heavy, the burden of a lost world in desperate need of a Savior, I have to remember that He set this time before time even existed. He is the Author of our days & has existed long before the world began. How can I not have confidence in this God? He, being the infinite & all-knowing Lord of Lords chose & set apart this time in my life for such a time as this. He knew every person I would meet, every encounter, every place & country & continent. And He intentioned it all.

So today, I sit back & remember.

Remember that He created each of us for ‘such a time as this.’ We can be still, knowing that if we are walking in step with King Jesus, He is orchestrating every detail. And the season we are currently in has been divinely chosen and intentioned.

May we be a people who trust Him with our ‘for such a time as this’ & have the courage to rise to the role He is calling us to play in a world that so desperately needs to know.

One response to “FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.”

  1. Dear Mackenzie,
You said it so well. Life is a journey with Him. And there are many “for such a time as this” moments. Two years ago he chose SHCC for you to learn and grow. You witnessed to everyone, you loved well, you left an impact, and then answered His next calling to this World Race. I feel you needed this time to be alone with Him, be in a group of like-minded people, and to explore the possibilities this world has to offer. I am sure you are making a difference and growing in ways you don’t even know or recognize yet. And in a year from now, He still will have you answering the call. Finish well, girl. We are praying for you. Love you bunches, Grandma and Grandpa Noelle.
